What is WOMP?

WOMP (Women of Music Production) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering women and non-binary people in music production, songwriting, and technology. We provide free education, networking opportunities, and events to create a more inclusive and equitable music industry. Read more.

WOMP is exclusively for women and non-binary people aged 13+ who are involved in the music industry. This includes producers, songwriters, composers, sound engineers, and anyone working in music technology.

No. While WOMP has strong roots in electronic music, we support all genres. Our programs and events welcome songwriters, composers, and producers working in any musical style.

The WOMP Writers Camp is a three-day songwriting and production camp designed for women and non-binary artists. Participants collaborate with mentors, write and produce new music, and build industry connections in a supportive environment.

Applications open each year and can be submitted through our website. Successful applicants are selected based on artistic merit, potential impact, and commitment to their craft. Keep an eye on our socials for announcements!

Yes! For major events like the WOMP Writers Camp, we provide fully funded spots for regional WA and interstate participants, covering flights, accommodation, and per diems. We also offer the Ableton Scholarship, which provides an Ableton Live 12 Suite license to one participant each year.

No. WOMP is exclusively for women and non-binary people in music production. Our programs, events, and community spaces are designed to support and uplift these groups. While allies are welcome to support from the outside, participation in our programs is not open to men.
